What did you make of the book's humor? Is it appropriate...or inappropriate? Green has said he "didn't want to use humor to lighten the mood" or "to pull out the easy joke" when things got hard. But, he said, he likes to write about "clever kids, [and they] tend to be funny even when things are rough." Is his use of humor successful? How did it affect the way you read the book?
I think the humor is on both sides, some parts are a little inappropriate or questionable, but others are pretty OK. YES! John perfectly fit the humor in, some parts you even think of putting it in, but if fit into the story like you wouldn't think of. The humor made me think it would not be as bad as I thought. I love how he mixes it in the way he does. It might seem like a girl book, but the inappropriate parts make it not such a girl book anymore.
