This isn't a book about Cancer!

DQ: At one point, Hazel says, "Cancer books suck." Is this a book about cancer? Did you have trouble picking up the book to read it? What were you expecting? Were those expectations met...or did the book alter your ideas?
A: I do not think that it is because the story really doesn't talk only about cancer it also talks about how Hazel starts to mature a little over the story. I think that the story is mixed with love, humor, and a little bit of cancer but not that much. I was expecting the book to be more sad and not be as cute like on page 17, Augustus didn't even know Hazel and he wanted to invite her over to watch a movie. I was going to think that the story was going to be a little happy but not as much, i like it though. I also like it that it shows us what other types of cancer there are out there. Like Hazels on page 24, Hazel tells us the type of cancer that she has and what can and would happen later on in her life. And it shows us that we can still enjoy life even though it isn't how we planned it.
